Sentences worksheets: identifying direct objects

Direct objects receive the action of the verb in a sentence ("I fried the eggs."). Direct objects can be nouns, pronouns or phrases. It is best to first identify the subject and action verb in the sentence; the words (or words) that complete the meaning of an action verb is the object. Not all sentences have direct objects. In these worksheets, students circle the direct objects in sentences.
