Who invented a thermometer ?

Galileo is credited with inventing the thermometer. He developed a device called the thermoscope, which was the precursor to the modern thermometer. Galileo's thermoscope consisted of a glass tube filled with liquid and attached to a bulb. As the temperature changed, the liquid would expand or contract, causing it to rise or fall in the tube. This invention laid the foundation for the development of the thermometer, which is now widely used for measuring temperature.
